How to increase website traffic…
…without having a million friends, and not writing content that everyone wants?
Well well… wouldn’t that be great, you ask. Besides from adding your site to directories and search engines, what can you do? The obvious answer is: not much. Sometimes in the last century people would tell you to use smart keywords in your meta-tags. This isn’t that important anymore, but it’s nevertheless a factor to consider. It’s the content that matters. So if you, like me, host something very few people read (i.e. as I mentioned earlier, content that “no one” wants), then be happy you have a small trusty audience and not a million spammers, ha!
Or else start filling your page with ads related to sex, and be sure to get a lot of visitors, excluding me!
On the slightly more serious side: remember that we search using text, and results are found by text. You can’t put a nameless image of an apple on your page and expect people to find it by searching for ‘apple’ (yet…)
